Congress Coffee

Trial09 is a killer prog-rock band, with intricate guitar-and-bass interplay, powerful drumming, and great vocals. We loved sharing a bill with them at the fabulous Congress Coffee and were blown away by their musicianship, songwriting, and performance. Congress captured a board mix of the live set, so stay tuned; we hope to put a few of the best tracks on streaming. Thanks to Jordan Le Nguyen (@crook.zie) for the cool Polaroids.

The July 26 Black Pontiac show was killer. Phreqed opened with new material and select covers, and the crowd was jumping by mid-set to Bird Jam, especially when Mike dive-rolled into the audience. Cas followed with powerful, emotive compositions and great energy, before Black Pontiac delivered a headliner set that had the room jumping and singing along. We loved chatting with the band at their busy merch booth before and after the show. If you get a chance to see Black Pontiac live, do it! Stagger, Blooper, and Phreqed took over Pizza Bob's on a Saturday night with a contingent of high-energy fans to raise funds for Made by Momma. The sets were so energetic that a snare was sacrificed to the punk gods, and the event raised more than $500 for the charity.

Capturing the 1975 vibe of Okay Charles, Phreqed and a crowd of talented roller-skate enthusiasts went retro style to light up the Roller Palace. The crew from ShortwaveMP4 captured the action by strapping on roller skates and firing up the steady cam. Stay tuned as this video hits the streets later in July.
